Stephen and I are hot and sweaty in Iquitos and have so far survived 27 hours of straight travel on four planes, and four airlines, computer issues (those of you who know me know how this would mess me up), and two days in tha Amazon that included a rain storm, mosquitoes, new food ideas, and a snake that Julio, our guide killed—it wasn’t that threatening, he killed it near our boat at night. We are now observing the DTS here at Iquitos and will take part in a city outreach tonight and Saturday. The kids are parcticing their drama right now and it is very funny. Monday, I start teaching the kids here. There are 25 students from 10 nations and Clark Barnard says this is the largest DTS in the upper Amazon area. As I said it is hot here. Upper 80’s and 90’s and VERY humid. You never really cool down, you just sweat a lot. Must be what Phoenix in July is like huh Katelin? Except there is no air conditioning here. |

We are so excited to be partnered with this ministry being birthed in the Side Lake area just north of Hibbing and Chisholm, Minnesota. John Krhin, who is the founding pastor of Living Stones Fellowship has been sent out from this church to continue further in apostolic ministry. God has moved on his and his family's heart, as well as others from that community to start a new fellowship there. Living Stones Fellowship - House of Praise Praise God for this new home missions church plant! |

We made it to Iquitos Tuesday afternoon without any hitches. It is 91 degrees here today. What a vast difference from Duluth, it is green and lush. It very much reminds me of parts of Monterrey, with its archetecture and income level. John it is like the areas we have ministered to in Monterrey. There are the rickshaw type taxis herethat use motorcycles to get around, they are everywhere and they will run you over if you slow them down. It is the main way people seem to get around. It is humid and hot, I am sweating and can’t stop. Clark has computer troubles and it has thrown him for a loop, so he is going to have to stay and have work done on it to get it to operate properly. We are going into the jungle tomorrow |
